Move big files between your own devices over Wi-Fi with LocalSend, free and with no cloud account

The quickest way to get a video off your phone is not the cloud at all.

LocalSend is an open source app for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS that hands a file straight from one of your devices to another across your own Wi-Fi network, with no account to make and no server in the middle. Its site says your data never leaves the local network, that transfers run at the full speed of that network with no bandwidth limits, and that the app is free under the Apache License 2.0, with no ads, no tracking, and zero configuration. The condition is the network itself: both devices have to be on it, although the transfer works with the internet switched off entirely.
