Noema runs an AI assistant on your iPhone that reads your own PDFs without sending them to the cloud

The private documents you would never paste into a chatbot are the ones this app is built for.

Noema is free on the App Store with no in-app purchases, a 363.2 MB download that requires iOS 18 or later and also runs on iPad, on a Mac with an M1 chip or later, and on Apple Vision Pro. It keeps the chat and the document search on the device, indexes PDFs and EPUBs you import, and syncs conversations across your Apple devices through iCloud. Writing for XDA, Nolen Jonker loads Qwen 3.5 2B on an iPhone and asks it about bank statements, insurance documents, and medical records, the papers he will not hand to a cloud service. Speed is the honest tradeoff, because the documentation XDA cites puts a 4B to 7B model at a few tokens per second, and the memory in the phone caps how large a model you can run at all.

Mary of Nazareth

Keep and Ponder

The useful work is finished. Keep what is true, ponder what matters, and entrust the rest to God.

Keep

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28, KJV

Ponder

Set down the burden you were never meant to carry alone.

Entrust

Jesus, meet me in my weariness and teach my heart to rest in you. Amen.

A practice shaped by Luke 2:19Guided by the biblical witness of Mary of Nazareth.
