Clear the memories ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude quietly built about you, and their answers stop drifting
Three assistants, three menus, and the ten minutes of maintenance nobody tells you to do.
Android Authority's Andrew Grush walks through clearing the stored memories that leave a chat assistant answering today's question with last month's context. In ChatGPT he opens Settings, Personalization, then Manage beside the memory summary, deletes entries with the trash icon, or wipes the lot from Manage Memories. Gemini empties from Settings, Gemini Apps Activity, the Delete dropdown, then All time, while Claude keeps its memories under Settings, Memory, where whole categories or single items can go and unchecking generate memory from chat history clears the rest. Grush is honest that a long history costs tokens to carry, which eats into the room left for your actual question, and he suggests an incognito chat for casual experiments so the clutter never forms.
