Microsoft Defender Antivirus, already sitting inside Windows, scored 6/6 for protection, 5.5/6 for performance, and 6/6 for usability in AV-TEST's May-June 2026 Windows 11 consumer test. KeePassXC stands in for the 1Password Individual plan at $2.99 a month or $35.88 a year, WireGuard stands in for NordVPN at $14.99 monthly or $179.88 billed annually, and Restic stands in for a $99 a year personal cloud backup plan.
