Intel launches a $15 billion stock offering, saying customers signal sustained demand for AI compute

The chipmaker is asking public shareholders to help pay for the capacity its customers say they need.

Intel said Monday it had launched a $15 billion underwritten public offering of common stock, with a 30-day option for underwriters to buy up to $2.25 billion of additional shares. The company said it intends to use the net proceeds for general corporate purposes, including capital expenditures and working capital, while maintaining a strong balance sheet and its commitment to an investment-grade rating. Intel framed the raise around demand, saying customers continue to signal a strong and sustainable demand environment driven by unprecedented investment in AI compute. J.P. Morgan Securities, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Citigroup Global Markets are acting as joint book-running managers.

Scripture for Reflection

“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”

Before we commit to something large, we can seek out counsel rather than deciding alone.

Warning time is a mercy to receive, and we can pray for those living in the path of storms.

Letters to the King
Many of us only pray when something has already gone wrong. Did you ever worry that God had grown tired of hearing from you?
From the Baker's own shelf

Friend, I wore out more than one night with my face in the dust, so let me tell you what I found there: the LORD never once sighed at the sound of my footsteps. I came to Him crowned and I came to Him hunted, and it was the same door both times. Did I fear it? Of course I did. A man who has failed badly starts to imagine that heaven keeps a ledger of his interruptions. It keeps no such thing. It keeps a bottle for tears, not a tally of visits. So yes, come running when the roof is falling in; only do not wait for the roof. Come tomorrow, when nothing at all is wrong, and see for yourself whether He looks bored. I have watched shepherds grow tired of sheep. I have never once watched the Shepherd grow tired of one.

– David, son of Jesse
