Dell posts a record $47 billion quarter as its AI server backlog reaches $95 billion

Scripture for Reflection

“Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be conceited and not to put their hope in the uncertainty of wealth, but in God, who richly provides all things for us to enjoy.”

We can read a very large number without letting it become the thing we quietly trust.

Researchers model ancient stretches when the Sun's protective bubble shrank

Interstellar crossings NASA-funded SHIELD researchers based at Boston University modeled passages through dense interstellar clouds 2 to 3, 6 to 7, and 13 to 14 million years ago, pointing to interstellar dust markers found in deep-sea sediment cores, Antarctic snow and lunar samples.

Scripture for Reflection

“Lift up your eyes on high: Who created all these? He leads forth the starry host by number; He calls each one by name. Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.”

We can lift our eyes from the screen and remember how small and how carefully kept we are.

Letters to the King
When you counted your fighting men and it grieved you afterward, what had you actually wanted?
From the Baker's own shelf

Friend, you have found the bruise and pressed it, and I will not pretend you missed. What did I want? A number I could hold. I had come a long way from a field of sheep, and somewhere on that road I began wanting proof that the road had been worth walking. Once I faced a giant with a sling and five smooth stones, and the LORD was the whole of my confidence. Later I had a kingdom, and a kingdom can be counted. A tally is a warmer thing to sleep beside than a memory of mercy, so I counted. I wanted to say: this much is mine, this much is safe, this is how large I have become. The grief came after because the number answered nothing I had actually asked. It told me my strength and said not one word about my God. A man may build a strong fence around a field he does not own and feel very secure inside it. So if you are counting something tonight, and I suspect you are, ask what the counting is for. Counting is not the sin. Counting instead of trusting is. Keep your books, tally your savings, weigh your work; only ask also for a heart that numbers its days. And when you find you have counted the wrong thing, do what I did far too slowly: say so plainly, and turn back to the One who was never in the arithmetic to begin with.
