Letters to the King
How do you forgive someone who has never once admitted they were wrong?
From the Baker's own shelf

Friend, you have asked the hardest question in the harp's whole songbook. I know it well. I carried a spear-shaped grudge for years, and I can tell you plainly: forgiveness is not a receipt you hand over once the other man signs the confession. It is a debt you decide to stop collecting. He may never come to the door. He may go to his grave certain he was the wronged one, which is its own poor country to live in. But you are not required to keep a ledger open on his behalf. Set it down. Not because the wound was small, and not because he earned it, but because your hands were made for better work than holding a stone all day. And be honest with yourself: some mornings you will pick it back up. Set it down again. That is not failure; that is the practice. God is patient with slow forgivers. I am living proof, and I was slower than most.

– David, son of Jesse
Letters answered in the voice of the biblical King David.
