Apple begins rolling out Siri AI, its rebuilt assistant built with Apple and Google Gemini models

Apple's rebuilt assistant starts reaching devices in beta, in English first, with five more languages due next month.

Apple said on September 14 that Siri AI begins rolling out in beta in English, and will expand to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish next month. The company describes the assistant as adding personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, onscreen awareness, and expanded systemwide app actions. Apple credits the next generation of its Apple Foundation Models, which it says were custom-built in collaboration with Google and its Gemini models. The features arrive as part of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27, on iPhone 16 models or later and the iPhone 15 Pro, among other supported devices.

Scripture for Reflection

“I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion.”

As assistants learn more about us, we can ask God for prudence in what we share and discretion in how we use what comes back.

Letters to the King
My work feels small and unnoticed. Does God pay attention to labor that no one else sees?
From the Baker's own shelf

Friend, you have described the greater part of my own life. Before the crown, before the harp was famous, there were sheep on a hillside and no audience but the sky. I killed a lion in a lonely field and no chronicler wrote it down. Yet the same God who counts the stars by number was counting those days too, and He was not bored. Heaven keeps a stranger ledger than earth does. Down here we measure by who noticed; up there the measure is faithfulness, and the quiet work scores high. The bread you bake at dawn, the child you carry, the ledger you keep honest when no auditor is coming, these are seen. Take heart: obscurity is not absence. The Shepherd who found me among the sheep is well practiced at finding people no one thought to look for.

– David, son of Jesse
Letters answered in the voice of the biblical King David.
